Where have you been? by Margaret Wise Brown

책의 표지에 이끌려서 빌린 책. ‘where have you been?’이라는 문장을 어렸을 때는 종종 들어본 것 같아서 이 책의 내용을 알아 두면 이후에 회화하는 데 도움이 될까 해서 빌린 책이다. 읽어보니 그냥 단순히 여러 표현을 배우기 위해 읽으면 좋은 책이었다. 매우 유익하거나 재미있지는 않았지만 표지에 끌렸기 때문인지 나름 만족하면서 읽었다.

I’ve been out on a whirl. That’s where I’ve been.

 

Wherever I wish. That’s where I swim.

 

I’ve been way up the road.

 

Down under the gale. That’s where I sail.

* sail: travel on the water

 

Where the jungle grows dim.

 

Why run down the clock?

To see if the tick comes after the tock I run down the clock.
