I Want My Mom

 

 

도서관에서 자주 볼 수 있는 A Little Princess 시리즈이다. 그러나 영국 영어로 쓰여있고 영국 배경이여서 그런지 그리 재미있진 않다. 더욱이 주인공으로 나오는 공주가 꽤나 버릇없이 행동한다. 교육적으로도 그리 훌륭하다고는 생각하지 않는다.

 

 

It was raining and the Little Princess was busy with her painting when the awful thing happened...

 

She knocked her water pot over and she spoiled the best painting she had ever done. ~을 치어 넘어뜨리다.

 

She mopped up the mess.

 

When the rain stopped, she went outside to play on the see-saw and the terrible thing happened... she banged her knee.

 

Mum kissed the smelly knee better.

 

But the Little Pirncess daren't. 감히 ~하지못하다.

 

"Eat it up," said the Cook. "It's awfully good for you." 

 

"Oh, goody!" said Mum. 와 근사하다!

 

The Maid popped in to play Snakes and Ladders. 잠깐 방문하다.

 

"I WANT MY MUM!" bawled the Little Princess. 고함쳤다.

 

The Admiral popped in to play boats. "I WANT MY MUM!" hooted the Little Princess. 해군 장관 / 고함쳤다.

 

"I WANT MY MUM!" shrieked the Little Princess. 비명질렀다.

 

The Little Duchess has asked you over for a sleppover tonight, with crisps and a video. 공작부인

 

At the Little Duchess's castle, the video was turned on and Mum crept away.

 

Back at the Royal Palace, the Queen was chatting to the King.
