<1> The Card

금요일날 오후에 학교에서 돌아온 Ramon은 책상에 올려진 봉투를 보았다. 그가 조심스레 봉투를 열자 그 안에 Jumping Jack Jackson 카드가 들어있었다. 마침내, 유명인사들 수집물이 완성되었다.

 

He'd been waiting for this for weeks.

<2> A big shock

Jumping Jack Jackson이 문을 열기 위해 1층으로 내려간 사이에 책상위에 있던 카드가 사라졌다.

 

The doorbell rang almost before Ramon had time to hang up. Ramon put the card down and answered the door. 문을 열었다.

 

Ramon stared at his desk. Jumping Jack Jackson was gone.

 

<3> The Case of the Missing Card

Ramon과 Mike는 모든 곳을 수색했지만 카드를 찾을 수 없었다. 그들은 Ramon이 통화하고 있는 사이에 도둑들이 창문으로 들어왔을 거라고 추측했다. 그러나 그들이 이층에 있었기 때문에 도둑이 날지 않고는 들어 올 수 없을 거라고 생각한다. 또한 창문은 조금 밖에 열리지 않았다. 그들은 분명 도둑이 작을 거라고 생각한다. 

 

Maybe robbers climbed in the window while you were on the telephone.

The window was open, but only enough for Mike to put his hand through. It didn't budge. 조금도 움직이지 않았다.

 

<4> The Flying Theif

월요일 아침 Ramon과 Mike는 Mandy가 큰 나무 아래에 서 있는 모습을 본다. Mandy는 번쩍이는 물건을 좋아하는 까마귀가 자신의 열쇠고리를 가져갔다고 불평한다. 이 말을 들은 Ramon은 카드 도둑에 대한 실마리를 찾고 까마귀 둥지로 간다. 

'It's got the key to my secret drawer on it."

 

"It swooped down and grabbed it right out of my hand. Crows love shiny things."

 

<5> Saving Jumping Jack Jackson

Ramon은 자신의 방으로 달려가 창문을 통해 까마귀의 둥지의 위치를 확인했다. 그리고 까마귀 둥기가 있는 5층의 Mrs. Franser의 집 문을 두드렸다. 그녀의 집에서 그는 까마귀 둥지에 닿을 수 있고 자신의 카드도 되찾을 수 있었다. 

Ramon raced into his room and peered through the window.

 

Ramon used Mrs. Fraser's kitchen tongs to reach the crow's nest.

 

Jumping Jack Jackson was safe and sound.
