Tisa가 아침에 머리를 정돈하는 내용이다. 크게 공감가는 내용은 아니었다.

 

But every Monday morning,

Tisa stayed in bed.

She hung onto her pillow. ~에 매달려 있었다. (hang의 과거)

She dove under the spread. ~아래로 파고들었다. (dive의 과거)

 

Monday was the day Mommy braided Tisa’s hair. 땋다, 묶다.

 

Her daddy looked for her.

She hid behind a door.

 

What are you hiding for? 무엇 때문에, 왜?

 

He walked right by her twice, pressed flat against the wall.

 

So Tisa balled her fists and curled up all ten toes.

She closed her eyes. She made a face. 얼굴을 찌푸리다.

 

She cried before the comb had touched her head.

Tisa fussed and grumbled, “I wish I were in bed!”

• Fuss: 중요하지도 않은 작은 일로 소란을 떨다.

 

Her hair was full of knots.

Her mom raked through each one.

Tisa stuck her lip way out and said, “This is no fun.”

• Stick - stuck: 내밀다.

 

“I can brush mine once or twice and I’m all set to leave.”

 

By now Tisa was sure to jump out of her skin. 이제, 지금쯤

 

At last, Tisa sat still as Mommy told her to.
