Henry Ford에 대해서는 자동차 회사와 관련된 인물 정도로만 알고 있었다. 그러나 이 짧은 책을 통해서 자동차에 대한 그의 열정, 상금을 얻기 위해 자동차 경주에 참가한 그의 도전정신, 자동차를 대중화 시키기 위한 그의 노력을 엿볼 수 있었다. 성공하기 위해서는 정말 자신이 좋아하는 일을 해야 하며, 이타적인 동기가 있어야 한다는 생각을 다시 한번 하게 되었다.

The crowd cheered.

Henry did not.
He had to cut the engine.
He leaned out.
Henry took the curve.
Spider’s weight kept the racer from tipping over.

Henry stepped on the gas.
He sped down the track.
His car caught up with Winton’s.
The racers were on their last lap.
It was burning oil.
Suddenly the engine stalled. 멎다.
Winton’s car rolled to a stop.
Henry roared past in a cloud of dust!
*roar: 부릉부릉 하는 소리를 내다. 크고, 길고, 깊은 소리를 내다.
“Yippee!” he shouted with glee. 기뻐하며
Henry had built a car everyone could own.
