Gulliver in Lilliput

 

 

 

<걸리버 여행기>는 영국의 사회를 풍자한 소설이라고 알고 있다. 유명한 소설임에도 지금까지 제대로 읽은 기억이 없다. 이 책을 통해 조금이나마 풍자적 요소를 맛볼 수 있어서 좋았다. 이를 바탕으로 추후에는 원서를 읽을 수 있기를 기대한다.

Should eggs be cracked at the small end? Or the big end?

 

The people in Lilliput were Small-Enders. The Big-Enders lived on the next island over. The emperor ordered me to attack the Big-Enders.

 

There was a fire at the royal palace.
