The magic school bus) Plants seeds, a book about how living things grow

TV에서 방영했던 내용을 바탕으로 책을 만들어서 그런지 다른 magic school bus보다 비교적 쉽게 읽을 수 있었던 것 같다. 이렇게 쉬운 내용도 더듬더듬 읽는 나를 보면 나의 이해력이 부족한가에 대한 의구심이 들지만 그럴수록 더 할 수 밖에 없다. 가끔은 이렇게 소득없이 소비만 하는게 무슨 의미나 있나 싶지만, 한편으로는 모두 나의 잘못이 아닌가. 다른 사람들이 각자의 능력으로 수입을 올릴 때 내 통장은 계속해서 -가 되는 이유는 그만큼 나는 그들보다 적은 노력을 투자한 거겠지. 이전에. 그러니 지금 좀 더 해야하는 거다. The anther is the part of the flower that makes pollen.

I think we’re on this center part – the stigma.

* stigma: pollen을 받아들이는 the top of the central female part of a flower

 

I get it! When pollen from one flower lands on the stigma of another, it grows a pollen tube, finds one of these egg cells, and together they make a seed!
